This series is designed for educators ready to move beyond “knowing” UDL to modeling and leading it. Whether you are leading a classroom of students, a grade-level team, or a district-wide initiative, this course will equip you with the mindset and tools to design environments where everyone can succeed. You will learn to lead by example—transforming how you design learning, navigate barriers, and empower others to do the same.
The Vision: We aren’t just implementing a framework, we are working to shift an entire culture. This series moves UDL from a checklist to a leadership philosophy. Whether you lead a classroom of students or a district of thousands of learners and educators, our goal is the same: to design environments where barriers are removed and agency is a given.
Goal: To equip leaders at all levels with the mindset and tools necessary to model Universal Design for Learning and lead transformative, inclusive instructional practices. To move from knowing UDL to leading and living UDL.

Learning Objectives
- Continue refining and developing learning plans discussed in sessions three and four.
- Share plans and receive feedback from peers
- Review and reflect on learning.
- Plan next steps to normalize UDL and support transformative, equitable change.

Tracy Dabbs
Tracy Dabbs is the Coordinator of Technology and Innovation and UDL Lead for the Burlington-Edison School District. She has nearly 30 years of experience in education with a focus on Leadership, Technology, Professional Learning and UDL.
