Description
Families joined And Still We Rise and the Special Education Technology Center (SETC) for an interactive community workshop designed to connect families with culturally responsive supports, transition resources, and assistive technology. Participants learned about the services available through both organizations, explored technology that supports communication, learning, and independence, and engaged in conversations about navigating services and advocating for their children. The event also provided opportunities for families to build relationships with one another and strengthen connections to community resources.
Intended Impact
Families increased their awareness of available community supports, assistive technology, and transition resources while strengthening connections with trusted organizations and other families who share similar experiences.
This description also reinforces one of the major goals of your King County grant: building relationships, increasing access to resources, and reducing barriers through trusted community partnerships.
