String Switch

The String Switch is activated with less than 1/2 ounce of tension on the string connected to a microswitch. To operate the switch, attach a string or piece of yarn to the pull cord. Then wrap the string or yarn around the user’s hand or another body part. The small base can be easily secured to any surface with velcro or tape. This switch has been useful in developing a more controlled motor movement by gradually changing the placement of the switch base.
