Families joined Roots2Wings Family Group, the Special Education Technology Center (SETC), and Open Doors for Multicultural Families for an interactive, hands-on Assistive Technology Immersive Lab designed to help families discover practical tools, technology, and community resources that support communication, learning, participation, and independence. Participants explored a variety of assistive technology solutions through experiential stations, connected directly with assistive technology specialists and community providers, and received individualized guidance to identify supports that aligned with their child’s unique strengths and needs. The event also provided opportunities for families to build relationships with one another while learning about culturally responsive resources and services available throughout Washington State.
Intended Impact
Families increased their awareness of assistive technology and community resources, strengthened their confidence in identifying tools that support their child’s participation and independence, and expanded their network of peer and professional supports.
