Description
Elevating Educational Design with AI: Making Learning Accessible, Inclusive, and Equitable The Shift to Student-Led: Reimagining Classroom Workflows with UDL and Blended Learning
Authors: Katie Novak & Catlin R. Tucker
This blended book study featuring The Shift to Student Led & Elevating Education Design with AI is designed to bridge the gap between pedagogical intent and technological execution. While The Shift provides the roadmap for moving students from passive compliance to active agency, Elevating Design with AI provides the high-octane fuel to make that shift sustainable for educators. Over five sessions, participants will explore how AI can dismantle barriers to student-led learning, allowing for a more inclusive, universally designed environment. Learning Objectives
- Connect Pedagogy & Tech: Articulate how AI tools specifically support the four pillars of student-led learning (voice, choice, pace, and place).
- Scale Personalization: Use AI to generate multi-modal rubrics, choice boards, and scaffolds that were previously too time-consuming to create manually.
- Audit for Equity: Evaluate AI-generated content through a UDL lens to ensure it promotes accessibility and reduce barriers.
- Model AI Literacy: Demonstrate to students and colleagues how to use AI ethically to “level up” their own self-regulation and executive function.
