11/30/2023, AT Chatter: AT Certification

Date: 11/30/2023 Time: 4:00-4:30 Location: internet Type: AT Chatter

Description

AT Chatters are an opportunity for Washington state educators to come together via Zoom to discuss current assistive technology topics. The topic for today’s AT Chatter is Assistive Technology Certification.  We will explore resources for growing your skills and resume in assistive technology(AT).  Although there is no legal requirement for an AT provider in education to have a certification, certification demonstrates knowledge and coursework that lends credibility to our role as AT providers.  There are multiple options for this certification from RESNA ATP to AT Specialist certificates and master’s degrees in Assistive Technology. Please join this chatter to share what you know about certification, ask questions of others and explore this topic.  The intent of this discussion is to explore the benefits of certification as well as learn about the options for becoming certified as an AT provider.
