Join WSSB’s Outreach Access Team to explore the tools, supports, and accommodations available for blind and low-vision students participating in Smarter Balanced and WA-AIM assessments.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss embedded and non-embedded accessibility features for SBA Math, English and WCAS Science.
  2. Discuss adaptations and accommodations for WA-AIM participants.

Krista Bulger, TSVI, Certified Assistive Technology Instructional Specialist

Krista Bulger is a dedicated Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TSVI) and Certified Assistive Technology Instructional Specialist (CATIS). She serves students in Southwest Washington as part of the Washington State School for the Blind Outreach Department and provides statewide mentorship and AT support for Washington TSVIs through WSSB’s Outreach Access Services. Her personal journey as a mother of two children with low vision has shaped her commitment in supporting students and colleagues with training and resources to become confident users of access technology.
