Karanveer is a charismatic young man living with cerebral palsy who communicates primarily with a dynamic eye gaze communication systems.  Karanveer’s message is that everyone is normal, everyone has unique perspectives, and we have to listen to each other. His faith in God is extremely important to him.  With God and his support team, he can accomplish anything!  He will tell you how he found his passion in a general education college class. By following his passion, he has been able to connect with many people all over the nation and to be successful in his career.  He looks forward to sharing his journey with you!  One more thing, he wants to be super rich! 

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will name at least two ways they can help students who use AAC find their passion.

2. Participants will change their teaching practices to support students in participating in more inclusive environments.

3. Participants will learn ways to presume competence and become more open minded to what their students with disabilities can accomplish.

Karanveer Singh

Karanveer is a charismatic young man living with cerebral palsy who communicates primarily with a dynamic eye gaze communication system. He is a college student and business owner who enjoys sharing how Assistive Technology has helped him overcome his disability to more fully participate in his family life, school and community. His goals are to be successful as a professional movie editor and help other people with disabilities. His business, Handsomejatt Consulting Services, includes contracts for film editing, speaking and consulting for local school districts and other professional organizations in Washington State. He has presented as a keynote speaker, facilitated webinars and engaged many audiences with his interactive Question and Answer sessions. Karanveer will capture your heart and inspire you as he shares how assistive technology has changed his life and helped him communicate with the world. 

Rose Racicot, MS, OTR/L

Rose is an OT and Assistive Technology Specialist in Bellevue School District and at the Special Education Technology Center at CWU with 34 years of experience. Her passion is to help school districts and educators implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to create inclusive classrooms for all students to succeed. Rose facilitates learning experiences on UDL, literacy support software, educational iPad apps, and accessibility features across platforms at the local, state, and national level both in-person and through remote learning.
