Implementing Student-Centered Practices: Educators will explore actionable strategies grounded in UDL and blended learning principles to transition from a “sage on the stage” role to one that empowers students to take ownership of their learning, fostering self-awareness, motivation, and self-regulation to promote equitable and inclusive learning.

  3. Designing Student-Led Workflows: Participants will collaboratively design and refine student-led workflows that prioritize student agency, engagement, and academic rigor, integrating UDL and blended learning elements to create inclusive and empowering learning environments.

Through facilitated discussion and reflection, we’ll connect the book’s leadership strategies to real-world efforts to create learning environments where all students, especially those historically marginalized, belong and thrive. While the book draws from examples in business and public life, it is filled with practical tools and doable tactics that translate meaningfully into education. The Practice of Adaptive Leadership will help you make progress on the leadership challenges you face as you lead change in your schools and systems. Structure: We will meet for five interactive sessions aligned to each part of the book: Session 1: Purpose and Possibility – Clarify your vision for inclusive leadership and explore adaptive challenges in your context. Session 2: Diagnose the System – Learn how to “get on the balcony,” map collaborators, and uncover systemic barriers to inclusion. Session 3: Mobilize the System – Discover how to reframe resistance, build coalitions, and turn intention into sustainable action. Session 4: See Yourself as a System – Reflect on your leadership style, values, and role in modeling inclusive practices.
