Description
Integrating AI into AAC intervention requires more than access to tools. It requires intentional clinical decision-making that supports authorship, language development, and literacy. Without structured support, AI may risk overriding user intent or limiting opportunities for active language learning. This session provides practical strategies for integrating AI into AAC intervention through prompting and modeling.
Learning Objectives
Participants will:
- Analyze two examples of prompting that support or limit AAC user authorship
- Apply two modeling strategies that support language expansion and literacy development using AI
- Implement strategies that support user selection and refinement of AI-generated language

Course Completion Requirements:
Completion requires learners to (1) view/attend the instructional presentation in full; (2) complete informal learning assessment/reflection. Attendance will be monitored through Zoom.
Course requirements must be submitted no later than 2/8/2027.
