This is an opportunity for Washington state AT providers and educational team members to come together in an informal on-line gathering to discuss current AT Topics. The topic for this webinar is “What’s New in AT Accommodations for State Testing?” Traci and Rose will facilitate a discussion and provide resources on the three main levels of accommodations, embedded and non-embedded tools, the differences between accommodations and modifications, and OSPI resources to get the word out to your staff. Bring your questions about word prediction, speech to text, text to speech accommodations and more. We look forward to hearing about what’s happening in your districts with AT accommodations for state testing.

Presenters
Rose Racicot, MS, OTR/L
Rose Racicot is an Occupational Therapist and Assistive Technology Specialist with over 37 years of experience supporting students and teachers in public schools. Her passion is to help school districts and educators implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and accessible educational materials to create inclusive classrooms for all students to succeed. Rose has led hands-on professional learning sessions for educators on both Apple and PC platforms.
Rose has recently retired from Assistive Technology (AT) roles at Kent and Bellevue School Districts as well as the Special Education Technology Center (SETC) at Central Washington University. She continues to enjoy part time independent AT consulting and training opportunities.
Traci West, MOTR/L
Traci West, MOTR/L is an OT and Instructional Facilitator for Assistive Technology in Tacoma Public Schools. She has practiced in the OT field for 24 years, with the past 16 years spent in school-based therapy. Prior to earning her MOTR/L, she was a COTA/L and brings experiences from both perspectives during her years of service in nursing facilities, hospital rehab, hand therapy, and school-based therapy. Passions include teaching others about the wide variety of accommodations available to support student inclusion in the general education setting and building a district culture of differentiation and inclusion.
