03/05/2024, Clicker: Alternative Access Tips and Options

Date: 03/05/2024 Time: 3:30-4:30 Location: internet Type: Webinar

Description

Join us on a journey into the alternative access options available within Clicker, a suite of child-friendly word processing tools. Clicker provides a range of options for literacy instruction, and although the focus of this hour is on activities that are compatible with alternative access methods, e.g., switches and eye gaze, we will also explore tips for emerging writers. Together, we will consider accessibility requirements of students with complex needs and review options for configuring the hardware and software to match the needs of these learners. As more intensive troubleshooting may be needed after the webinar, this learning opportunity is a perfect precursor to more personalized technical assistance (to be scheduled on an individual basis).

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will learn how alternative access options in Clicker support accessibility needs for diverse learners.
  2. Participants will explore these options using specific materials designed in Clicker.
  3. Participants will learn about hardware and software considerations to maximize access to Clicker activities or Sets.
