In a second-grade general education classroom, there's a student named "C" who faces challenges due to her complex body and communication needs. Despite these challenges, "C" has a lot to say! She's currently learning to use two switches to activate an Augmentative Alternative Communication device. However, finding the right words on her device can be time-consuming. Additionally, "C" sometimes struggles to be heard or to get attention because she finds it difficult to raise her hand on command. To overcome these barriers, "C" uses a step-by-step device, allowing her to quickly and easily signal to her teachers and peers that she has something to say or needs assistance.
