03/18/2024, Supporting Students with Dysgraphia: Identifying Challenges and Finding the Right Tool

Date: 03/18/2024 Time: 4:00-5:00 Location: internet Type: Webinar

Description

Where do you start to support students with dysgraphia and writing difficulties? Do you try a variety of writing tools? Or is there a better way to systematically identify student writing barriers? The DeCoste Writing Protocol will be explored as a way for school teams to identify tools and strategies for struggling writers. Once written productivity challenges are identified, teams can then feature match AT tools and identify strategies for implementation based on individual student need.

Objectives:

Participants will be able to discuss 3 pieces of handwriting and keyboarding research that affects student’s ability to produce written output.

Participants will be able to identify steps of administering the DeCoste Writing Protocol to determine writing barriers.

Participants will be able to list a minimum of 3 AT tools and/or strategies for identified writing factors.
